Our Team
Your number one industry advocate
FAMNZ represents, educates and protects finance and mortgage advisers like you.

Peter White AM is managing director of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia and one of Australasia’s most respected industry figures with over 45 years of experience across the banking, finance and broking sectors. He was involved in setting up the first RAMS home loans sales office, is a former associate director of AIDC Ltd Investment Bank and the first CEO of Wizard Home Loans. As well as leading the FBAA, Peter is currently the managing director of Finance and Mortgage Advisers Association of New Zealand and chairman of the International Mortgage Brokers Federation.
As the inaugural Country Manager for the Finance and Mortgage Advisers Association of New Zealand (FAMNZ) since January 2024, I’ve dedicated this year to establishing our brand and underscoring our value to the finance and mortgage advisory market. FAMNZ is a professional association focused on providing advocacy, education, and representation for mortgage and finance advisers. Our mission is to support advisers and expand our market share nationwide.
In my career, I have supported advisers and Financial Advice Providers (FAPs) in preparing for New Zealand's evolving licensing regime, bringing a depth of experience in compliance and training. My background includes roles such as compliance and training consultant, senior positions with the FMA, prominent New Zealand banks, and as the Professional Development, Standards and Policy Manager for Financial Advice New Zealand.
With a deep commitment to raising professional standards, I draw on my experience as a former Financial Planner in Australia, where I managed my own practice, to help advisers in New Zealand navigate regulatory changes and achieve business growth.
I hold a Diploma in Financial Planning from Deakin University, Australia, and since moving to New Zealand in 2012, have completed the National Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 and a Certificate in Adult Education.
